William M. Tweed

      William M. Tweed was a politician that was know as the "boss" he was know as the boss because Tammany Hall, and the Democratic Party was always on his side. he played a major role in politics in the 19th century in New York. Tweed was also the 3rd largest landowner in New York at the time. He also owned a railroad, Tenth National Bank, a New York Printing Company, and the Metropolitan Hotel. He started a city-related projects. He took between $25 or $45 million dollars from New York taxpayers later found that he took as high as $200 million
